The Blue Jay Brightens my Back Yard

Birds in My Back Yard
Although I am not a bonafide member of the Audubon Society I do enjoy watching the birds in my back yard. I have several feeders in which I put seeds and the birds come each day to enjoy the extra treats place there just for them. Living in a rural area we enjoy seeing many species up close and the color of their feathers paint wonderful pictures of Nature at its best.
In my back yard alone there are Blue jays, Cardinals, and morning doves that regularly visit my feeders. We also have some tall Pines along the edge of our property that are now dying due to a disease and it is not uncommon to see the Red Headed wood cock pecking away.
Crows and hawks also live here as do owls and it is always a treat to see them in the wild. During the spring the Robins return as do many other species including y favorites the Gold Finch and Eastern Mountain Blue Bird.
The old saying American by birth and Southern by the grace of God ring so true in my heart. The simple things of life especially those in Nature bring a joy that cannot be expressed adequately in words. Beautiful birds, the mountains, and the tranquility of a simple life. I am most blessed.

Great hub, I love blue jays. They have such a bright beautiful color.
Blue jays are certainly a delight to see and look at. We get them a lot in our yard in NJ.
Hi Fiddleman! Lovely pics...I feed the birds and keep budgies, too. Nice to know your red-headed woodcock is still pecking away! Mine is a little chary these days. Bob
I love your hub. We too are bird lovers and enjoy feeding and watching them. A little wren (?) nearly landed on me this morning! He must have thought I was a tree! (Now, do I look like a tree???) lol Love, Susieq42
I envy you your Blue Jay, I wish he would come visit me!
I enjoy feeding and watching the birds in my garden, it's very busy out there at the moment, the Fieldfare and Redwing are stripping the holly of it's berries!
Beautiful pictures of birds you've got in here. You are certainly blessed to see them in your own garden. Voted up and awesome!
THE BEAUTY OF GOD’S LOVE By BERNARD LEVINE
God is amazing
He chooses every baby's DNA and blood type
He puts every star in place to float in the sky
He creates every fingerprint with a rare design
He makes an egg to burst open with life.
God is great
He selects all the love-songs for every bird to sing
He makes broken bones mend
He gives every flower its specific perfume
He cares for seeds and they turn to fruit.
God is awesome
He tells the seasons when to change
He gives us air so we can breathe
He feeds multitudes of living organisms on our planet
He waters fields of green carpets with morning dew.
Every leaf is a marvel of God's genius
Every baby is filled with God's love
There is nothing in this world more precious
than the beautiful kindness of God.

I love these birds. I often hear birds singing in our neighborhood because there are big trees around.
What beautiful photographs! I, too, love to watch birds of all kinds. I saw so many cardinals and blue jays in my backyard in Ohio. The cardinal is the state bird in Ohio because we have so many of them. Here in Naples, FL I am discovering egrets, ibises, mockingbirds, etc. Nature is certainly beautiful. Great hub!

I love that blue jay! What beautiful birds you have in your part of the world. Here we see some eurasion jays, I love seeing them, but I haven't seen a blue one before. I also love the photo of the bluebird. It'd be great to see one of those one day.
